2 Killed In Blasts Near Gurdwara In Kabul, India Says “Deeply Concerned”
Kabul / New Delhi: Two people have died and some are trapped in Gurdwara in the capital of Afghanistan, Kabul after two explosions shook the city this morning. The explosion occurred near the gurdwara gate. Some shots were also heard.
The two explosions occurred near the two Gurdwara Dashmesh gates of Pita Sahib Ji, Karte Parwan, Kabul, a local report said. Afghan Interior Ministry spokesman Abdul Nafi Takour told the local news agency that two people who died were Sikh worshipers and Afghan guard.
There were several worshipers in Gurdwara, said the source, added that some managed to escape and had been sent to the nearby hospital. But the total number of victims in Gurdwara is unknown, they said.
At least two explosions were heard on a busy road near Gurdwara in the Karte Parwan Kabul area at around 7 am local time (Kabul). This area has a dense population and is the center of the Hindu community and Sikh Afghanistan.
BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa told the Ani news agency that three people had managed to get out of Gurdwara, two of whom had been taken to the hospital. Gurdwara guard was shot dead, he added.
