The first dragon crew mission finally returned home
The crew of four people from the first formal Dragon Crew mission finally returned home early on Sunday morning, marking a very important goal. The crew is part of the first scientific mission for the SpaceX crew dragon after being tested and sent to NASA. The mission was a big success, but some unprofitable weather delays forced the four of them to stay in the room a little longer than the planned NASA.
It was the second time the dragon crew spacecraft returned to earth with people on board, following the crew test flight to the ISS which lasted only for a short time. Dragon crew never spent this length in space, attached to the ISS, and while those things might seem insignificant, even the smallest change is very important when the spacecraft is responsible for protecting human life. Fortunately, Dragon Crew performed perfectly, and the astronauts experienced a safe spark in the Gulf of Mexico.
This is actually rather rare for a crew to return to earth in the dark, but NASA must choose the fastest return window available after bad weather conditions delay dragon crew returns a few days. The capsule touched the water at 2:56 EDT. The spacex recovery ship took astronauts and capsules and returned to dry ground shortly afterwards.
As NASA Notes in a new blog post, the initial election was the first of the spacecraft a.s. Crewed “Since Born Apollo 8 returned in the Pacific Ocean on December 27, 1968, with Astronaut NASA Frank Borman, Jim Lovell and Bill Anders.”
The landing is clearly good news for spacex but also a lot for NASA, which has long needed its own spacecraft to transport astronauts to and from ISS. The Dragon crew is one of the products of the commercial crew progam, and so far the only one. Boeing is still trying to get a star from the ground after a ton of delay and setback.
“Welcome to Victor’s house, Michael, Shannon and Soichi, and congratulations to the teams in NASA and SpaceX who work very hard to ensure their sparks are safe and successful,” said Chilling Nelson Administrator Nelson in a statement. “We have completed the outstanding spaceflight for America and our commercial and international partners. Safe and reliable transportation to the International Space Station is Persis is a vision that NASA has when the agency starts the commercial crew program.”
NASA on the commercial crew program:
The purpose of the commercial crew program is safe, reliable, and cost-effective transportation to and from international space stations. It has been proven to provide additional research time and increase the opportunity to find humanitarian praise for exploration, including helping us prepare for the human exploration of the moon and Mars.
It will still be for a while before we see the Starliner in action, but so Boeing finally completed the project, NASA would not lack ways to get his astronaut into space.
