HAPE spent the first six years in his life in the Bocholt Recklinghausen district, which was more of a rural location. The family then moved to the city in the early 1970s, where the young cellphone spent most of his childhood in his grandmother’s mother and shop on the outskirts of Herten-Scherlebeck. After his mother lost the sense of smell and tastes through surgery, he committed suicide in 1973. After the father’s grandparents moved to Hape’s father and his brothers. HAPE managed to graduate from high school in High School Marie Curie in Recklinghausen and active as an altar boy during the school days there. Career
HAPE received the first television format on December 17, 1984. The “Kerkeling Children’s Clock” program, was produced together by Radio-Bremen, dealing with daily school life at Hannilein Preschooler and his family. All characters are played by cellphone themselves. With his music and sketch showed “kangaroos”, which was broadcast for the first time in January 1985, the cellphone finally reached a commercially successful breakthrough. This was followed by further appearances in various event formats, among others in the “extratour” program. According to his own cell phone statement, the famous Paush Otto Comedian contributed mostly to the start of his career because he introduced a cellphone to important and influential people in the scene. Active from 1989 to 1991 on ARD as a moderator for the early German decision for the Eurovision song contest. In 1989 kerkeling continued to make a comedy format “total normal” in collaboration with Achim Hagemann and Angelo Colagrossi. This format is awarded a gold camera and grimme prize for its critical media attitudes. One thing that remembered as part of the show was one event. In 1991, the cellphone was dressed as Queen Beatrix and drove in front of the camera, in front of the real Queen, in a car at the Belleveu Palace. In 1993 the first kerkeling film was released with the title “Kein Pardon”. HAPE itself works as a director and actor and is also involved in work on the scenario. Some formats and acting appearance are followed, but not very successful. The success of the media only returned with the SAT-1 program “the world laughed at it”. Kerkeling also modulated annual AIDS donations several times for SAT-1 TV stations. In June 2001 KERKELING began a pilgrimage 630 km by Spain St. James.
