The Apple Podcast application is a bit damaged, not just you
After the update to iOS 14.5, along with application updates for several applications, the podcast application seems to have changed to worse. Not all, but of course for some, the latest update to the Apple Podcast application has reached a little log jam. One reason the bad reaction of people must have the latest Apple Podcast application is the Apple switch created to handle individual podcast episodes. The old library is effectively lost.
Apple changes the way users interact with podcasts with this latest update. Initially, users can show interest in one podcast episode, and add the episode to their library. In a new way, Apple directs users to focus more on podcaster – make the whole application more like social networks.
The library becomes more like a feed – but with a switch, users suddenly have episodes of each podcast they have ever followed everything in a big mass. Podcasts now by default are sorted in chronological order with dates (aka subscribing) dates. At the same time, this application removes the “recently updated” tab completely.
As recorded by Macrumor, some users reported that the new podcast episode did not contain because it was released, while other episodes were not loaded at all. This unlike this problem cannot be solved, but the significant UX changes to the application used by so many users every day may have to have a little more than a process that is easy to play.
If you use the Apple Podcast application and require an Apple alternative podcast, peek at the Overcast or Web, iOS, and Google Podcasts that are compatible with Android. There are always cast pocket, or Pandora application for your desktop. Worth a peek at: Himalaya, Castbox, and Procast.
