Typhoon Muifa Brings Massive Waves To China Coastline (PHOTOS)
My assisted waves hit the Eastern Chinese coast while Muifa typhoon, now weakened at a tropical storm, approached on Wednesday. Photos show large waves that search Wenling in the city of Taizhou, the province of Zhejiang and water walls crash on the bank of the Qiantang river in Hangzhou. In Lianyungang, in the province of Jiangsu, pedestrians were curled up while waves splashed them on a walkway along the coast.
The storm touched earth at 12:30 p.m. Thursday with winds blowing up to 77 mi / h, reported the Associated Press. Later in the morning, Muifa was weakened at a tropical storm and was to weaken more throughout the day, according to the Chinese national meteorological center.
M uifa brought winds and heavy rains to Shanghai overnight and continued on Thursday on the coast. No major damage was reported to Shanghai, but it was reported from further south, in the city of Ningbo. According to state media, more than a million people have been evacuated from Shanghai and other cities in the Province of Zhejiang before the stop.
M ufia was the twelfth typhoon of 2022. CGTN America tweeted that 10 typhoons have touched earth in Shanghai since 1949, the Muifa being the most powerful.
