What is Google Search Console?

Google Search Console is an online web service from Google that enables webmasters to check and monitor various indexing activities of the websites they own or manage. The web masters can set the parameters such as frequency of searches, URL structure and many other parameters that determine when the website is listed in the search engine. Webmasters can also get detailed information on the number of visitors to a particular website.

With the help of Google Search Console, webmasters can monitor how the ranking of websites is changing over time. They can see which keywords or key phrases are being used in the search results. The Google Search Console site provides various tools such as the Google Sitemap, the Google Toolbar and the Google Analytics Trackers. These tools are used by the webmaster to monitor the progress of the website. This helps in the proper positioning of the website in SERPs (Search Engine Result Pages).

The Google Search Console provides details such as number of unique visitors, total number of clicks, average amount of time visitors spend on the pages and the number of impressions. The first metric provided by the Google Search Console site is the Unique Visitors metric, which shows the number of unique visitors who have come to the site and the number of unique visitors who have come and gone. The second metric provided by the site is the Total Clicks metric that shows the total number of clicks performed by users. The Average Clicks and the Number of Impressions Metric are derived from the Unique Visitors and Total Clicks measurements.

The Google Analytics Trackers measurement is provided by the Google Search Console. This measurement reports the number of links and ad clicks related to the particular website owned or managed by the webmaster. The Google Analytics Measurement reports provide information such as the number of visits to the particular website, the time that the visitors spend on the website, the number of pages or links, and the number of new links that were created on that particular site. The Google Content Insights Measurement is another metric provided by the Search console. This measurement reports data such as the number of content impressions, the number of times content was displayed and edited, the number of times content was clicked, and the amount of time content was held back. The Google Webmaster Tools report is another metric provided by the Search console.

There are other available Metrics and not all of them may be useful to you. However, these data can be helpful to your customers and website owners. The Google Webmaster Tools provides various other reports such as the most popular keywords and search terms, total page traffic, and the search results ranking. This will help businesses understand which keywords and key phrases are bringing in more traffic. Knowing this information can help businesses increase their search results rankings.

The Google Search Console also offers tools such as the Analytics Content Insights. This is helpful for businesses who want to understand where their users are coming from, how they are finding them, and what devices they are using to access their website. The Content Insights provided detailed information about the web users who came to the website, how they found the website, and how long they stayed. Businesses will benefit greatly from knowing and understanding the users’ experience, and from the content they are viewing. Through the analytics and the other available metrics provided by the Google Search Console, a business owner will know what is their viewers’ likes, dislikes, views, and the amount of time they spend on a particular page or on a particular search query.
